Hi,
I'm a new subscriber to this list, so I thought I'd be a good little Netnaut
and introduce myself...
I'm a brand newbie at LW, just picked up 4.0 for Intel, and as a long-time
veteran of Imagine (Amiga and PC) I must say I'm extremely impressed (and
relieved) to find a powerful, comparatively friendly and
_production-oriented_ tool. I originally came from fine arts (MFA in
painting, BU) and have been doing CG since the early '80's. Spent a lot of
time then doing Dubner CBG, Quantel Paintbox, etc.; picked up my first Amiga
in '87, still own a 3000 which has basically become a PAR box for me (we do
most of our production on Intel machines and send it over to the PAR for
output to Beta SP). I've had this company (CyberGrafix) since the late
'80's; we originally did mostly animation for video and some work for online
services, now 75% of our work is for the Web, 5% for online services, and
the rest is video animation. Our clients are mostly educational; we've done
work for PBS, the National Science Foundation, and the Smithsonian
Institution among others.
If you're interested, you're invited to visit our Web site at
http://www.cybergrafix.com/. It hasn't been updated in almost a year, but
we're in the process of doing so now, and hopefully within the next couple
of weeks will undergo a redesign which will include some Shockwave and some
VRML.
BTW, if there's a FAQ for this list, I'd appreciate a pointer to it (so I
don't ask any dumb questions before I find out if they've been asked before!)
Thanks,
John.
